Abinaya Gargy
CWRU BSTP Student

Abinaya received her bachelor’s degree in Computational Biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. At RPI she performed research in Dr. Keith Fraser and Dr. Richard Bonocora’s lab, investigating the effect of over-the-counter medications on the gut microbiome. She also performed independent research in Dr. Michael Klein’s lab, exploring the antidepressant mechanisms of an herbal supplement. She joined the Clayton lab as a Pharmacology PhD student and is excited to dive into the intricate worlds of glia and neurobiology. When she is not in the lab, Abinaya enjoys reading books, exploring new places and trying out different foods.
